Cultural attractions throughout the county offer something for everyone, with the Litchfield Jazz Festival taking place every summer at Goshen Fairgrounds in Goshen, Details from a showband, fanfare our drumbandConn., theatrical opportunities performed by both The Goshen Players and The Sherman Players, additional concerts and summer festivals at Music Mountain in Falls Village, one of the finest chamber music halls in the country, and of course, the nearby Tanglewood music venue in Lenox, Mass., with performances by the Boston Symphony Orchestra. Lime Rock Park, one of the most significantly historic road racing circuits in the country, is another special event location to visit. Museum highlights include The Litchfield History Museum as well as The Tapping Reeve House and Law School. Litchfield County is also home to numerous nurseries and garden centers, including the popular White Flower Farm, as well as several equestrian and agricultural farms.

Outdoor enthusiasts can release their inner adventurer while enjoying access to Litchfield County’s 4,000-acre White Memorial Conservation Center, which offers nature programs and activities for all ages, as well as an expansive network of trails for hiking, mountain biking, snowshoeing and cross-country skiing. Candlewood Lake, the largest lake in the state, offers various water sport opportunities during the summer months, while Mohawk Mountain and Woodbury Ski Area allow for snow sports in the winter.
