East Haven is located just three minutes from downtown New Haven, the second largest city in Connecticut.

The area was founded by Puritan settlers in 1638 as part of the purchase of New Haven. The town is now divided into three large communities including Foxon, Momauguin and The Center. East Haven earned the nickname “The Iron Works Village” after the first ironworks in Connecticut was founded there in 1655. The town, bordered on the south by Long Island Sound, features a lush, 2.4-acre town green where a variety of monuments and a gazebo/bandstand are situated. East Haven is located about 85 minutes from New York City.
