Lest We Never Forget

Julia B. Fee Sotheby’s International Realty remembers those lost by this great nation on the eleventh anniversary of the attack on the World Trade Center.

This great nation has suffered many tragedies in our history. Our fellow countrymen have experienced fear, sadness and loss brought about by each of those events. We honor and record these in painful detail so as time marches forward, this great country never forgets our suffering or loss. So is recorded the tragedy… and triumph of 9/11.  On that fateful day in September, our country was attacked by an enemy who lurked in the shadows and fought in a cowardly manner.  Our enemy hid behind a proclaimed religious belief, which clearly is baseless and without merit.  They struck at the most innocent and defenseless of our citizens, far away from a recognized or declared battlefield.

As with other tragic events in our past, Americans stood in the face of fury, stiffened our resolve and moved forward.  We did so with dignity and honor, with the belief that we shall move past the horror, but we shall never forget those lost.  Our strength of character has rebuilt from the dust that fell that fateful day, respectfully honoring the families and memories of the great Americans we lost.

“Today, we gather to be reassured that God hears the lamenting and bitter weeping of Mother America because so many of her children are no more. Let us now seek that assurance in prayer for the healing of our grief stricken hearts, for the souls and sacred memory of those who have been lost. Let us also pray for divine wisdom as our leaders consider the necessary actions for national security, wisdom of the grace of God that as we act, we not become the evil we deplore.”
