Guilford, Conn. Sees Highest Sale in 10 Years, with Stephen Glennon of William Pitt Sotheby’s International Realty Representing Buyer

Guilford, Conn. (September 13, 2016) — William Pitt Sotheby’s International Realty announced today that Stephen Glennon of the firm’s Madison, Conn., brokerage represented the buyer in the highest sale in ten years for Guilford, Conn. The contemporary Colonial waterfront home sold for a record price of $5,200,000, marking the highest sale in town since 2006.

The recently sold property, located at 270 Old Quarry Road, contains 1.4 acres of direct waterfront land with a private beach, dock and several outdoor spaces and amenities overlooking the Long Island Sound. The residence contains four bedrooms, five full and two half baths, and a total of 6,421 square feet of space. Its master bedroom features a fireplace, full bath and walk-in closet, as well as a balcony with water views. Fireplaces are also found in the eat-in kitchen, which boasts granite countertops and a center island, and the home’s spacious, bright living room. French doors lead out to professionally landscaped, sloping grounds and multiple exterior areas for relaxation and home entertainment.

“Being a part of this record sale in Guilford was a truly rewarding experience,” said Glennon. “Buyers are clearly still purchasing luxury shorefront properties, which is an extremely positive sign for the waterfront market. Everything about this home is exquisite, from its design to its scenic location, and I wish the new owners nothing but the best.”

Glennon has been involved in Shoreline Connecticut real estate for a number of years. Prior to serving as a sales agent, he spent over 35 years building and managing businesses in commercial banking, residential mortgage services and commercial real estate sectors in New York City. Glennon relocated to Madison, Conn. in 2009, where he enjoys sailing, golfing and running, in addition to his real estate career.
