Award-winning former news anchor with NBC, ABC and CBS brings over 30 years of experience to new role as real estate sales professional
Essex, Conn. (March 24, 2014) —William Pitt Sotheby’s International Realty today announced that former NBC, ABC and CBS news anchor Janet Peckinpaugh has joined the company and will be based in the firm’s Essex brokerage. Peckinpaugh comes to the firm with 30 years of experience in television and radio news, in addition to experience in politics and in running her own media marketing business.

Peckinpaugh’s most recent news anchor position was with NBC-owned and operated Connecticut station WVIT-TV. Previously she reported and anchored for the ABC and CBS Connecticut affiliates. Over the course of her career she interviewed four US presidents: Jimmy Carter, Ronald Reagan, George Bush and Bill Clinton. Prior to being a news anchor, she was a public affairs radio reporter covering politics at the White House and on Capitol Hill.
After retiring from television news, Peckinpaugh founded Peckinpaugh Media Group (PMG), a full-service, multi-media production company focusing on helping companies and individuals promote and strengthen their image. PMG’s clients have included the Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection, Cox Business and many more. The company produced a 30-minute news magazine show for CPTV, 180°, about people facing adversity and turning their lives around.
In 2010, Peckinpaugh was a candidate for Congress from the second district of Connecticut.
