Julia B. Fee Sotheby’s International Realty Announces Carolyn Fugere as New Larchmont Brokerage Manager

Longtime Manager Jim Whittemore Transitions into Sales Role

Larchmont, N.Y. – May 30, 2014 Julia B. Fee Sotheby’s International Realty announced today that Carolyn Fugere will now serve as the brokerage manager for the firm’s Larchmont brokerage. Jim Whittemore, who has managed the office since 1980, has decided to transition into the role of a sales associate, the firm announced.

Fugere was previously the manager of William Pitt Sotheby’s International Realty’s five brokerages in Litchfield County, Conn. and Berkshire County, Mass, where she was recognized in 2014 as the company’s Manager of the Year for agent recruitment. During her three-year tenure, she managed over 80 sales associates and led the firm to a #1 market share position in dollar volume and units in the Litchfield Hills. In addition, she saw to the firm’s Southern Berkshires office becoming the top brokerage in listings for its market, after having been open for less than a year.

Prior to joining William Pitt Sotheby’s International Realty, Fugere managed two Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerages, doubling their profits to bring each to a #1 market share position. She entered the real estate industry in 2000 as a sales associate. Over the course of her career Fugere has served on numerous boards including the Litchfield County Board of Realtors and the Board of Directors of the Institute for American Indian Studies in Washington, Conn. Today she is a member of the Larchmont and Mamaroneck Chambers of Commerce and the Larchmont Historical Society.

“Carolyn has demonstrated extraordinary leadership, and brings an incredible track record of growing every brokerage she has ever managed,” said Paul Breunich, President and CEO of William Pitt and Julia B. Fee Sotheby’s International Realty. “She also possesses tremendous energy and enthusiasm, as well as a passion for exploring new ideas. I look forward to working with her in her new role.”

Jim Whittemore has chosen to move into sales after managing the Larchmont brokerage since 1980, when he purchased the family-run brokerage Sutton and Whittemore, Inc., having worked there with his father since 1974. As broker/owner and manager, Whittemore led the brokerage to a leadership position in listings and sales in Larchmont and Mamaroneck, merging the company with Burbank Associates in 1990 and continuing as manager upon selling the company to Julia B. Fee Real Estate in 2005.

Whittemore grew up in the area and attended Mamaroneck High School, and now brings all of his knowledge of the local community and local real estate to his new full-time role assisting buyers and sellers of all property types at all price points.

“Jim’s legacy in Westchester real estate is unrivaled. As a sales professional with our Larchmont brokerage, I have no doubt that he will continue to achieve the same heights of success he did as one of our most revered managers,” said Breunich. “Buyers and sellers of fine property who work with Jim will benefit from the experience and knowledge of a true expert.”
