William Pitt Sotheby’s International Realty and New Development The Residences at 66 High Street Recognized with Home Building Industry (HOBI) Awards

Guilford, Conn. (October 20, 2016) — William Pitt Sotheby’s International Realty announced today that The Residences at 66 High Street, a new luxury condominium development built by The Horton Group, and listed with Guilford agents Peter W. Cowie, Nikki Travaglino and Anne Scandone, was the recipient of three 2016 Home Building Industry (HOBI) awards. The new development was recognized in the categories of Best Condominium Community, Best Condominium Unit and Best Historic Rehab. William Pitt Sotheby’s International Realty additionally received a HOBI Award in the category of Best Ad for the The Residences at 66 High Street.

The HOBI Awards is Connecticut’s most prestigious housing industry program, acknowledging distinction in new construction, land development, remodeling, sales and marketing, and home financing. A panel of HOBI judges with expertise in home building select the winners each year by reviewing applications submitted by Home Builders Association (HBA) members. In addition, the judges travel the state for several days, touring selected homes and neighborhoods before making final decisions.

The Residences at 66 High Street consists of a full renovation of a 130-year-old mill building while preserving its historic character, including an attached Quonset hut structure, considered one of the largest on the Connecticut shoreline. The project also includes the addition of three new buildings to the site, for a total of four buildings. Now almost complete, the converted mill building maintains its original roots by keeping its locally recognized exterior largely intact, while boasting luxurious townhouse interior styles with modern design and upscale amenities including LED lighting, state-of-the-art HVAC, sound systems, Smart Home technology and spacious kitchens with high-quality appliances. Collectively, the buildings offer townhouses and single-level, two-bedroom units, many with first-floor bedrooms, ranging in size from 1,850 to 2,600 square feet. With 57 approved condos, the development represents over $56 million in new inventory for Guilford.

The Horton Group is a full service general construction and maintenance firm founded in 2000. The Connecticut-based company specializes in a wide range of commercial, industrial and residential projects from restoring historic buildings to developing new properties.

“It is a great honor for our team to be a HOBI award recipient, as well as represent The Horton Group’s masterful work, which was recognized by this highly acclaimed award in not one, not two, but three categories,” said Kathy Mitchell, manager of William Pitt Sotheby’s International Realty’s Guilford brokerage. “The Horton Group defines the architectural quality embodied in this award through the meticulous construction of this magnificent, upscale residential opportunity in the heart of Guilford.”

The William Pitt Sotheby’s International Realty and Horton Group team will be officially honored at the HOBI Awards Dinner on November 16th, 2016 in Southington, Conn.
