William Pitt Sotheby’s International Realty Raises Funds for Disabled Veterans, Attends Marine Corps Birthday Event

Middletown, Conn. (November 11, 2014) — William Pitt Sotheby’s International Realty agents from the firm’s Essex and Old Lyme brokerages recently helped to raise funds for disabled veterans and participated in a 239th birthday celebration event for the US Marine Corps. Participating agents included Kathy Brunoli Murphy, Peter Allam and Don Shannehan.

The birthday event, which was held to honor marines, veterans and all serving personnel, was held at the First and Last Tavern in Middletown, Conn. on the evening of November 10, the actual birthday of the corps. The Marine Corps was founded on November 10, 1775.

Agents helped to raise funds by donating a gift basket of items for a raffle that was held at the event. All money raised at the celebration will be given to the organization Disabled Veterans Chapter 7.

“The Marine Corps are one of our nation’s first lines of defense, and the members of this essential expeditionary force deserve every recognition and honor we can give them,” said Maureen Swarts, brokerage manager for William Pitt Sotheby’s International Realty’s Essex and Old Lyme brokerages. “I am so happy to see our agents donate so generously to those who have served our country.”
