Judy Perkins

Real Estate Salesperson

Kent Brokerage

27 N Main Street
Kent, CT 06757

Judy Perkins, a veteran of the New York City real estate market with Brown, Harris Stevens, has had an extensive career in sales and marketing. Her first successes were with IBM in Chicago where she was honored as a national sales leader and selected for management training in their program at The Harvard Business School. In New York, she worked in the cable television and advertising industries specializing in the production of  long form "advertorial" commercials for clients including Allstate, Revlon, Pillsbury and Chevrolet.

Born in the Midwest, Judy has lived in Chicago, San Diego, Greenwich, CT and Manhattan. She and husband Jim live in Kent and have three daughters in Los Angeles - Susan; a financial analyst and attorney, Karen; a PhD bio chemist and teacher and Elizabeth; an actress ( Big, Weeds!) .

A thirty two  year resident of Litchfield County, first as a weekender and then as a full-time resident, Judy supports local environmental groups such as the Housatonic Valley Association, The Kent Land Trust and The Pratt Center where she produced a fund-raising cookbook, Cooking in the Litchfield Hills . It sold 9,000 copies ( out of print but but sometimes  shows up at the Kent Memorial Library's weekly book sale!) She was an alternate member of the New Milford Planning Commission, a drafter of the town's Scenic Road ordinance, a member of the Aquifer Protection Committee and was a  director on the Greater New Milford Board of Realtors. She has also served on the Board of the Sherman Chamber Ensemble and is an enthusiastic supporter of the Earl Mosely Institute for the Arts and their Diversity of Dance program.  Her free time is often spent spent chasing down art exhibits and architectural tours in the U.S. and internationally

Judy can relate to many of her clients' needs since she and husband, Jim  have had many of the same experiences. They have restored and expanded a vintage house, put up post-and-beam barns, built swimming pools and purchased raw land to build an architecturally designed shingle and stone house. Most recently they renovated a smaller "retirement" house in Kent so they can still jump on Metro North for trips to the city ,

In 2010 Judy handled the third largest sale ever recorded in Litchfield County - "Stone Acres", a classic manor house on...
