Tuesday, September 11, 2012: William Pitt Sotheby’s International Realty remembers those lost by this great nation on the eleventh anniversary of the attack on the World Trade Center.
Few have forgotten where they were in their lives when our country was attacked on 9/11. Like each of you, we were either at work, or with family or friends, when the news broke. We saw a faceless and cowardly enemy strike at the heart of America. This strike was not on a battlefield, not done with honor and or in defense of noble beliefs. It targeted innocents; far away from any known areas of conflict. Every American remembers the images and clearly understood the meaning of this terroristic act. This day has gone down in the annals of American history as a tragedy, compared only to those felt by this country in times of war.
Just like those tragic events in our past, America has recovered and risen above our loss. We are a strong nation, built on values that have forged our character in the face of loss and adversity. As citizens, we forged ahead with determination to rebuild and to remember all of those lost, with honor and dignity. On the anniversary of this senseless act — we pray for those lost. We pray for those who lost. We pray for the strength and dignity to move ourselves and this nation ahead with honor.
“Today, we gather to be reassured that God hears the lamenting and bitter weeping of Mother America because so many of her children are no more. Let us now seek that assurance in prayer for the healing of our grief stricken hearts, for the souls and sacred memory of those who have been lost. Let us also pray for divine wisdom as our leaders consider the necessary actions for national security, wisdom of the grace of God that as we act, we not become the evil we deplore.”
