The past year has been one of significant growth for our company, both in sales and infrastructure, and we are thrilled to see this trend continue with two of our offices in Connecticut. William Pitt Sotheby’s International Realty’s office in Newtown recently relocated to a strategic new part of town, while our Fairfield and Southport locations were combined into one single state-of-the-art space in Southport Village. This news comes on the heels of our recent announcement that we have opened an office in Berkshire County, Massachusetts, marking the first time our brand’s services will be offered in that important resort market. These moves combined with the current strength of the real estate market certainly have us feeling optimistic about the year ahead.
The town of Newtown Year to date deposits are up 91.2% Volume and 108.6% Units. We moved to the desirable Church Hill area of town. This is one of the most highly visible sections of Newtown, with some of the town’s most significant foot traffic, especially in the warmer weather months. Our new location, situated in a freestanding building that was converted from a historic house into office space, benefits from an ideal layout that offers the perfect combination of open area and privacy. Our local team of real estate experts is excited to continue serving this lovely community from an exceptional new space.
Our move to Southport Village was motivated by a need to accommodate the rapid growth experienced by our Fairfield and Southport brokerage offices, as well as to achieve more efficiency in leadership and operations. The new space, a stately brick building befitting our brand and outfitted with completely new equipment and systems to provide the best possible support for our agents, is not only large enough to comfortably house all of the sales associates from our two old offices, but has plenty of room for future growth. Our combined operations have seen a 55% increase in single-family home and condominium sales in the past year, with an impressive 265% increase in pending sales compared to the same time last year. Given our new central village location close to all area shopping, restaurants and services, as well as Southport Harbor, business will only continue to improve. We share the building with the Connecticut Challenge Center for Survivorship, an organization that provides assistance for cancer survivors, and we have already taken steps to offer our support for the important work they do.
We are very pleased about both of our recent office moves in Southern Connecticut, and look forward to continuing to serve our clients in these markets with the professionalism and style they have come to expect.
