About Me About Me

Christine Bates grew up in Upstate New York and had a business career in banking, corporate development, and consulting stretching from Brazil to Korea, Miami and New York.

After relocating to New York City, she renovated a c.1840 Brownstone (down to the studs) in Greenwich Village where she raised her family. In 2009, she moved to the village of Millerton with her husband Peter where they are actively involved with restoring and renting investment properties - both commercial and residential. These projects offer her clients a unique vantage point within the real estate community. The creative process coupled with financial skills are invaluable to her clients on both the buying and selling side.

Additionally, she has been a valuable and consistent author in Main Street Magazine, since the very first issue. She has written about real estate issues ranging from conservation easements to home inspections as well as local market dynamics.

Ms. Bates is a graduate of Oberlin College, University of Michigan (MA in Art History), and Columbia Business School where she received her MBA in marketing and finance.

Christine is very active in civic affairs in both Connecticut and New York. Previously, she was Deputy Mayor of the vibrant village of Millerton where she was elected to three terms. She is the Chair of the Board of Directors of the North East Community Center.

When she’s not fully immersed in all things real estate, she can be found in the garden, or on an adventurous trip!
