Chris is a Connecticut native who is familiar with many of the surrounding towns and cities. She is an experienced Realtor, who refers to it as her "drive and passion fueled by her mother." Chris has had an extensive professional career which started with IBM Hamden/Hartford in their Marketing/Sales Division followed by her position as Director of Human Resources with an IBM Business Partner.  She holds a M.B.A. that she earned nights while working full time at IBM. Chris enjoys involvement in her community.  She worked some years for the Madison municipality, which offered her an even better understanding of her town and allowed her to meet some wonderful people along the way. Four generations of the Lena Family have also enjoyed time at their family’s shoreline summer home in Niantic, Connecticut which she refers to as a special place for gathering and coming together with extended family.

Chris transitioned her professional skills, and knowledge of Connecticut, to the real estate industry when they moved to Madison twenty years ago, which allowed her to truly engage in her town, work close to home, and work with many wonderful clients guiding them successfully through the real estate process. In reflecting on her experiences, Chris states “some of my most fond memories are working with clients who were relocating.  They would come to Connecticut, some with their children, at a very critical and personal point in their lives. Having lived in Connecticut all my life, I could provide insight on so many different areas.  More often than not, the children were understandably hesitant about moving leaving all they had known behind. I would take them by the beaches and playgrounds and their eyes would light up.  After they relocated, I would see them around town and hear how happy they all were in their new home and in their new schools. It is very self-gratifying knowing that, through my profession, I can impact so many on such a personal level and be an integral part of a new beginning in their lives.”

Chris is married to Rich Lena (Amity High School '79 and Dartmouth College '83).  They have two grown daughters, Jaclyn and Kendra, who reside in Boston.  The Lena’s have two young King Charles Cavaliers who keep the family active and always amused.  Chris and Rich's interests over the years have included many years of traveling to follow their girls' activities (including college soccer traveling with two generations of dogs in tow). They enjoy spending times in Madison, Niantic and Boston with family and friends.  Three of Chris' favorite things to do are spend time with their girls, watch the sunsets at the beach and go into town at night to local places with Rich, see people they know and just enjoy a spontaneous night out.
