BACKGROUND. After a successful career in the Fashion and Retail industries (Armani & The Gap) I learned that distinctive service is the key to success. Distinctive service means listening to the customer and working passionately and tirelessly to ensure that all angles are covered, not simply reacting to, but anticipating the customer’s needs. It means utilizing a team of people so that each property we list will be seen in the best light. For buyers, it means finding the home that fulfills their requirements within the price range they have established...
For buyers, it means finding the home that fulfills their requirements within the price range they have established. I also learned the power of good merchandising: presenting a product to the right market, attractively displayed. I look at our website as a storefront and I am dedicated to having each of my listings represented most advantageously with excellent photography and engaging copy.
TRACK RECORD. I have consistently been a top producing agent. I had a remarkable 2016. My sales were up 49% in a market that grew by only 10%. I was the top producing William Pitt Sotheby’s International Realty agent in Litchfield County. Among all agents in Litchfield County, I was the #1 agent representing the buyer and #2 representing the seller in terms of dollar sales.
TEAM APPROACH. I am a very good juggler of projects but recognize that I am not expert in every aspect of what is required. My strength is multiplied by the backing of the power of the Sotheby’s International Realty® brand and the human resources that are available to me at William Pitt Sotheby’s International Realty. The resources are customized for each listing, based on the needs of that property. For example, I can call on people who are expert in architectural significance or land usage. The public relations department secures key editorial placements. Brochures are carefully designed and written, Professional photography. Our administrative support staff ensures timely online presence. Team agents provide backing so we never miss a showing. Further, I will outsource when needed to arrange for stagers, designers, or contractors.
PERSONAL. After spending weekends in Litchfield County while working and living in Manhattan I decided to make Kent my full time residence in 2003. I have embraced my life here, becoming an active member of the community and owning and operating the award winning Inn at Kent Falls.
AREA. This section of Northwest Connecticut offers an extraordinary mix of diverse people who love the land and the picturesque open spaces, the sense of history as well as the pleasures of modern life. A sense of community endures in the County’s towns and villages, whose main streets retain the charm of another time, but which also enjoy the distinct advantage of accessibility to major cities. In this tranquil countryside, individuals and families can set their own pace, choosing to enjoy the area’s fine restaurants, excellent shopping, ample outdoor activities and respected educational institutions.
Licensed in both Connecticut and New York, I look forward to working with you.

Ira helped us buy a house in Connecticut sight unseen from California in the middle of a pandemic. We bought our house during a frenzied market with houses selling in a day with multiple offers. Ira gave us sage advice on winning strategies to get the house. He helped us navigate a difficult seller and provided above and beyond support during a challenging time. Ira is extremely customer-focused and has a great team. Steve Pener assisted with FaceTime viewings and had valuable insights on neighborhoods and properties. After we closed, Ira continued to offer support and counsel as we settled in to the area. We highly recommend Ira and his team to any buyer or seller wanting a great experience.
