As your real estate agent, it is important to me that I do more than just meet your expectations...I want to exceed them. I am constantly anticipating the needs of my clients. That means I might: pack a cooler of food and drinks for a relocating client who needs to cover a lot of ground in a limited time; or send comparables to a buyer who is deliberating about what to offer for a house; or take a potential seller to view active comparables so that they can truly understand the pricing of their home...

I take great pride in providing a service that my client may not have even recognized or articulated that they actually need.

As a former Psychologist, I have found that my background translates well into Real Estate. I recognize that even a seemingly "positive" move is stressful and will do what I can to ease this transition. I am an excellent listener. For a buyer, I will really pay attention to their description of what they are looking for in an ideal home. I'll preview inventory promptly and won't waste time showing those homes that are not in line with my client's criteria. For a seller, I will listen to what they have liked in their current home, and use this in my marketing materials. When negotiating, I'll listen to the other agent's covert communications and use these to my client's advantage. I am also an effective and clear communicator and have absolute respect for confidentiality. My clients know that they can trust me and that I will always tell them the truth; even if it means losing a potential deal.

My family has lived in lower Fairfield County for 20+ years. I have two wonderful daughters whom I love immensely and have also learned much about the school system and area opportunities for kids/families through them.  This time has allowed me to appreciate the nuances of the different towns. As a family, we have personally utilized many of the amenities first-hand. Many of my clients continue to use me as a personal resource for years after their closings. I can provide lists of vendors, restaurants, where to shop, nursery schools, local doctors, etc. It is quite typical for me to even provide guided tours to clients who are new to this area. I enjoy this part of my job immensely.  I am a member of the National Association of Realtors as well as our local Mid-Fairfield Board of Realtors. I am a recipient of both the Leading Edge and the President's Circle Awards and have consistently been a “Gold” award winner at Sotheby’s.  I have also been a board member of SEPTA (Special Education PTA) and our town's Gourmet Club.

I have organized and headed multiple wine tasting groups in Lower Fairfield County.  These groups have provided much socialization and education to the community.  I also am a member of several book clubs, lead a Special Needs Mom’s Coffee, enjoy working out, socializing but, MOST OF ALL MY WORK AS A REAL ESTATE AGENT.

When we decided to sell our house in this CRAZY market we wanted an agent who could CONTROL the chaos while still getting us the best price, terms and overall experience. We could not have been happier with our decision to use Lori Elkins Ferber as our Listing Agent.  We had already had a positive history with Lori when we happily won a bidding war virtually in 2013 from our then home in California.  We had to rely on Lori implicitly and she always came through.  Over the 8 years that we have know her she has always stayed in touch, remained a resource, and a warm presence in our lives. Our favorite thing about Lori is perhaps how she is a rare combination of a caring presence with a strong skill set (in marketing, negotiation, and ability to manage details).  Every year she would show us that personal touch during the holidays when she hand delivered a homemade baked pumpkin bread and her business acumen when she would answer our inevitable questions on the real estate market.     This MARKET is VERY DIFFERENT than what we had been used to in the past years.  An absolute SELLER’S MARKET.  We did not want to get caught up in the hysteria so we reached out to Lori and she helped us to developed a plan that would allow us to get a positive outcome without all of the frenzy.  She was thoughtful with pricing and strategy and in the end we did have multiple offers without the pandemonium and sold our house at a price that far exceeded our expectations.  The entire transaction went incredibly smoothly and to that we give much credit to Lori Elkins Ferber. -Christie Stewart

My agent was Lori Elkins Ferber. She was the best agent I have ever worked with, knowledgeable, conscientious, and patient. My husband and I were difficult clients because we had peculiar requirements for a house and were not always consistent. I never felt she was anything other than eager to help us find what we wanted. She both recommended appropriate listings and understood what we were looking for.I never felt that she was either pressuring us or was tired of our extended and laborious search. And in this highly competitive sellers' market, she was able to strategize us to the winning bid over more than 20 competitors.A more than satisfied buyer

Now that our real estate closing is behind us and as we prepare to move into our new, and very old, home we wanted to take a moment to thank you.  And while it may sound cliche we truly could not have done it without you.As you know we started our search pre-COVID by visiting open houses.  We looked and looked - we saw a lot of houses.  We may have eventually found a house that way in those times but it sure didn’t work for us during the pandemic panic.  We didn’t realize how lucky we were when you phoned us to follow up on an open house that we attended and you hosted. You were endlessly generous with your time and knowledge.  As we went through the ups and downs of our home search facing multiple offer situations you were right there with us in every sense.  I’ve lost track of the number of houses that we saw and the number of road trips we took together - you were very patient.  At times the process was frustrating but mostly a lot of fun also.  We know that you shared all of our goals and aspirations and suffered disappointments along with us.You knew exactly what we were looking for and you found it for us - the right location, the right price, the right environment.  And even after we went into contract you went into high gear managing lawn equipment and even animal care - to borrow another cliche you really went above and beyond. You referred us to contractors that are currently helping us and as promised are very good.  You have been amazingly in our court and have provided tremendous support.  We didn’t realize how lucky we were.We appreciate what you were able to do for us and the time we spent with you.  We mostly appreciate your friendship.Thank you,Scott Gordon

I hired Lori to be my agent on a house in Westport and it couldn’t have worked out any better! It was a very challenging property with plenty of issues that created numerous difficulties along the way. Lori always stayed calm and focused on the bigger picture ultimately receiving multiple bids over the asking price. In an industry where many agents are lazy and lose interest after the first few weeks, Lori remained fully engaged throughout the process and was always available within minutes by email or text. I couldn’t be more pleased at the result and look forward to working with her again.-Steven L.

Capturing the hot market in Fairfield County - Lori Elkins Ferber helped us downsize by providing us with a thorough market analysis to determine pricing for our house in Weston. In addition to listing ourhome, she gave us valuable suggestions concerning staging a design while handling all negotiations in a professional and ethical manner. We feel 100% confident that Lori worked to get us the best possible price for our home and protected our interests during the sales process. We recommend Lori without a doubt, and would use her services again.

Thank you for navigating us through this whole process. Your years of experience helped us to get through all the glitches we ran into and to smooth it all out for us and helped to make it work out for us.  Thanks for all of your guidance and advice.

“Lori sold our house! She worked tirelessly from the first moment when she helped us understand the market and where our house fit in, to the absolutely gorgeous photographs her photographer took for the MLS listing, and especially the way she listened to us during the entire process, which was very emotional for us, having lived in our “dream home” for over 17 years and facing a big transition for our family. She was extremely considerate and flexible in scheduling viewings, which was really important since we entered the market during the time when COVID-19 was at its height. She made sure that people who came to see the house complied with health and safety standards so that we felt good about having them in the house. When we received multiple offers, she kept calm and was able to orchestrate events so that we received the best offer from the best buyers, with whom we went to contract and closing without a hitch. She made everything go smoothly, and always kept the channels of communication open with us. She was honest and straightforward about letting us know all our options at every step of the process, and helped us get to a successful sale in a very short period of time. She has endless energy and is always positive, which went a long way in keeping our own stress level at a minimum. We’d recommend Lori in a heartbeat as she’s a powerhouse professional and a wonderful person to work with."

I had a Fantastic experience with Lori. She is extremely responsive and quick to get answers. After I told her what I was looking for she went to work and lined up several houses for me to look at. Unlike past experiences she found houses for me. Honestly, I’ve worked with 4 or 5 real estate agents in the past and she was the only one that came up with houses and made a plan to show them to me.  With all of the other agents,  I felt like I had to do everything. After we found the house, Lori did not stop working until we closed. She is everything you look for in an agent and I can’t recommend her enough. I tell everyone that’s in the market, that she’s the best! -John Scuola

My family and I first met Lori when looking for a short term rental during the Spring. She quickly was able to help us find somewhere for our family to safely quarantine and was always available for questions and information about Weston. During our 2 month stay in this rental, we quickly fell in love with Weston and knew Lori would be the perfect person to help us find our dream home. Transitioning from NYC with 2 small children was a challenge and there were many non-negotiables on our list for a house. Lori went above and beyond to not only help us find the right home but to familiarize us with the town itself. We immediately fell in love with 11 Nimrod Farm and based on the competitive marketplace, knew that we needed to take quick action with an offer. Lori seamlessly guided us through this process, explaining each step along the way and helping us to make the best decisions for our family. When we ended up in a multiple offer situation, Lori was the perfect guide to help us navigate through. She provided strategic and thoughtful suggestions on how to proceed, keeping in mind our priorities while also understanding what would get the deal done. Within a day, our offer was accepted to which I give full credit to Lori's strong negotiation skills. But her involvement didn't stop there. Lori followed us in the process through the actual sale and beyond. Once we officially moved into the house she was always available for questions regarding the town and neighborhood and checked in on us multiple times to make sure all was well. Lori is a true pleasure to work with. She is kind, committed, understanding and incredibly knowledgeable. Since she found our dream home we won't need to go through this process again, but if we ever did, she would 100% be our go-to.

The decision to relocate our family from NYC to Connecticut was not an easy one! We started the search with a lot of uncertainty about whether to move. And because we don't have many friends or any family in Connecticut, we also didn't know the area at all. On top of that, having only rented apartments in NYC, we had no idea what we really wanted in a house. So, when we met Lori, we had questions and concerns about everything from the style, aseatic and functionality of houses, to the vibe of each town, the school districts, and activities for kids. We would be a daunting challenge for any broker! However, from the moment we met Lori, we felt at ease and that we were in capable and caring hands. She didn't make us feel like she was on a timetable, or was just looking to make a sale. Rather, she felt like an informed guide whose goal was to find the town and home that was right for us.  Since we were still based in NYC, the time we had available to see houses was limited and getting access to them was competitive. However, Lori was flexible and accommodating - giving generously of her time on the weekends, hustling to schedule as many house tours as we wanted to see in one day (which was sometimes as many as 8-10), and was responsive and communicative throughout the week.  It soon became clear that the houses that most appealed to us appealed to everyone else too! Many of them had offers before we even got to see them, or they required a best and final offer that evening, which was stressful when we had spent only about 15 min touring before the next appointment showed up.  At one open house in particular, which we went to on our own, the line was literally down the driveway and along the block. We waited and waited for our turn, only to be told when we neared the front that the open house was over. We pleaded with the gatekeeping brokers to allow us to do a quick lap. They relented, but shooed us in and out. Nevertheless, it was our favorite house so far, but we had seen it for less than 10min. and didn't know what to do. We talked to Lori at length and upon hearing how torn we were, she pulled off the impossible. She was somehow able to arrange for us to go back to the house to tour it again, but with the owners there instead of the brokers.  Not only did we get to spend nearly 45 min looking at every detail in the house, but we bonded with the owners, who gave my kids Ring Pops, let them play with their dogs and chatted with us about their daughter's upcoming move to NYC. We stood in the driveway and made an above-ask offer and then rushed home to write a letter describing how much we hoped to see our kids grow up in the "Ring Pop house", as we had nicknamed it.  As it turned out, the house had received dozens of offers that day, and we barely cracked the top 10. It was then that we started to feel discouraged with the search. Clearly, any house that we would want, would be in high demand for others too. And it became apparent that given the bidding wars, we would be priced out of anything for which we felt was worth leaving the City. This on top of the challenges of low inventory, an influx of New Yorkers looking for similar things, our lease coming due, our free weekends increasingly limited, and all of the other challenges that come with house hunting during Covid with 3 kids in tow. But again, Lori pulled off the impossible. She had kept mentioning a house that she thought we would love, but it wasn't yet on the market. Honestly, since the house wasn't listed we didn't pay much attention whenever she mentioned this, but she felt so strongly that this house would resonate with us, that she kept reaching out to the family living there to see whether they had made a decision to sell. It was now September and we were about to take a much-needed vacation over Labor Day weekend. Lori said that she wanted to call the family one more time to ask if we could just see the house. We were exhausted, the kids were cranky, and we weren't really interested in seeing one more house. But the owners said we could come take a look, so out of courtesy, we went to quickly check it out.  We told Lori that we wanted a house with lots of light - Pink Cloud has huge windows that really bring the outside in. We told Lori that we wanted a house where our nature loving kids could explore - Pink Cloud has forest, a waterfall and a creek, and within moments our kids had spotted deer and found a frog! We told Lori that we wanted a place that felt like a relaxing retreat, but that was also close to schools and the things we love about the city. Pink Cloud has a rural feel, but is only 1 mile from the schools and 2 miles from restaurants and shops. Finally, we told Lori that we wanted a house that felt like "us" - Pink Cloud had a UVA baseball cap hanging on a hook (Koby and I met at UVA Law!) and our city kids were running free in the yard playing with the owner's 2 labrador retrievers (the exact breed of dogs we both grew up running in our childhood yards with). The universe was clearly telling us that THIS was our house. And because the house was not on the market, we were in a position to make it our home. Another silver lining is that instead of a stressful, rushed, impersonal, competitive, arms-length transaction between brokers, we feel as if we inherited the house from a family, and we had the opportunity to get to know them. They let our kids watch Netflix while we took measurements, and we were able to text them just last week when a strange alarm started going off. We're now Facebook friends and I text them photos of the kids enjoying their new backyard.  We have Lori to thank for finding us our future home. She really took the time to understand our family, our needs, and our conflicted feelings about relocating.  Despite the challenges of searching during Covid, and from a distance, she was available, resourceful and persistent throughout the process. And she advocated for us every step of the way.  -- Stephanie Shemin Feingold

We had an excellent experience with Lori.  She was very professional, proactive, and certainly knew the marketplace well.  Lori advised us well with respect to preparing our house for sale and organizing matters with the photographer, attorney and other realtors.  We received offers within the first week and Lori provided sound and practical advice as to how best to proceed.  It was a pleasure working with Lori and we certainly would unreservedly recommend her.Liz & Jay Rocio67 Lords Highway East,Weston, CT

Lori Elkins Ferber is not just a realtor, she is like family! We have worked with her twice and to say she goes the extra mile is an understatement. She knows the Lower Fairfield County market, she cares about her clients, she gets the deal done with grace (multiple offers within days) and she diligently works with her clients from the first meeting until closing, always with a smile and wanting to keep her clients happy. We would hire Lori every time!!!!-Richard and Vanessa Dampf 40 Salem Road, Weston, Ct

We met Lori Elkins Ferber at an open house she was hosting and it was just God sent. We were first time home buyers and had no clue how to go about this process at all. She became our agent and patiently showed us multiple house. We had to briefly stop our search due to COVID and when we resumed she took all necessary precaution to make us feel safe. When we finally decided on a house she guided us through the entire process until move in and even afterwards. We can not thank her enough for the numerous times she eased our anxiety and patiently answered all emails, texts and calls almost immediately. We would highly recommend Lori without reservations. We couldn't have done it without her.

The realtor for Sotheby’s international was outstanding. Great company support both the realtor and company overcame every obstacle during the sale in this difficult environment

We loved Lori! She is extremely friendly and very flexible. She took us to see probably 100 houses and when we wanted to look somewhere completely out of her niche she was totally on board. She listened to our wants and was eager to make us happy. She would check in on us turning the mortgage process which was a nightmare (due to COVID). We highly recommend her to anyone who is looking in fairfield county!

Lori is an outstanding realtor. Going above and beyond in all aspects of the sale. Both working tirelessly on marketing and personal aspects. I would heartily recommend both William Sotheby’s and Lori Elkins to represent anyone in their real estate needs.

Lori did a wonderful job selling my house during a less marketable time of the year. Her years in counseling helped me to navigate an often stressful process-she was able to keep her head when I was losing mine! She was both tenacious and flexible in marketing my home. Lori’s communication with prospective clients, brokers, attorneys, town officials and myself was excellent…If you want a proactive advocate/agent who will go that extra mile for you, I would, without reservation, recommend Lori Elkins.”

We had a great experience working with Lori buying our home in Weston. Since we were moving to the area from out of state, her knowledge of the surrounding area was invaluable And during the whole process she was very responsive to all of our needs and available whenever we needed her. She was also extremely helpful in coordinating our closing date, making recommendations on lawyers and inspections once in contract.Lori offered excellent advice, answered every question (and there were many!) and helped us make informed decisions. We were lucky to have worked with Lori in finding our home and highly recommend her.

Bryan and Christine C.

Lori Elkins worked with us to buy our home in Weston about two years ago. She minimized our ‘wheel spinning’ by showing us only those houses that met our parameters. When we found a house we liked, she worked diligently and assertively with the owner’s broker to resolve all of the ‘issue’ and negotiate the best possible price on our behalf. We found Lori to be not only highly competent, but also a pleasure to deal with. She was always very pleasant, patient, and attentive to our needs and concerns. This is a woman who goes above and beyond the call of duty. She provided us with excellent service not only during the search and buying process, but after we had moved in as well, offering a multitude of referrals and helpful information. We heartily recommend Lori to anyone who is seeking to purchase a home in the wonderful town of Weston.”

Dan Benninghoff

We met Lori Elkins at one of her exclusive listings. We were so impressed by her inside knowledge of the Fairfield CT. area, and most importantly her passion with working with people, that we quickly signed her as our exclusive agent. It was one of the best decisions we ever made. If patience is a virtue, then Lori is a saint! She must have shown us several dozen homes and never became tired or frustrated with us. She stuck with us until the end and negotiated an expert deal on our dream home. We have a family physician and now have Lori as our family real estate broker. We recommend Lori Elkins highly and without reservation.

Dr. Amber Brody

I have been very impressed in my work with Lori Elkins. Among real estate agents that I have worked with over many years, I have found Lori to have exceptional skills and instincts as an agent. In a sales profession that is fraught with many actual and potential conflicts of interest, I have never doubted that Lori always puts her clients’ needs and interests first. She is always candid and answers questions patiently, thoughtfully and intelligently…Lori clearly takes a holistic, customer service view in working with her clients. I recommend her services enthusiastically and highly.”

Lori Elkins was not just the consummate professional, but she was a warm and pleasant presence during a challenging time. My wife and I had decided to retire and move to Florida and sell our condominium in Westport. Like many families, over the years we had accumulated items that we no longer needed. Lori literally helped me to sort through boxes and referred us to a handyman who lugged everything away. She also helped us to stage our home. Furniture was moved around, and items were removed so that the house looked less crowded. She also connected us with a painter who was reasonably priced, and did a great job freshening up our house. When the house was ready to market, she wrote excellent copy, hired a fabulous photographer and created a gorgeous website, virtual tour. Unlike other agents I have come across, Lori never left things on auto pilot. She was constantly doing open houses and strategizing. In the end, our home sold with multiple offers. We highly recommend Lori; she goes above and beyond, but more importantly it is obvious that she truly cares!

Harvey Slater

Lori helped me to sell my home and to purchase a new home at a very stressful time in my life. I was newly divorced and downsizing. Also, the housing market was very difficult. Nonetheless, Lori’s professionalism, and enthusiasm helped to make this a positive experience. Her background in psychology really came through, as she really listened to my needs, communicated clearly, and always maintained confidentiality. Also, she really tuned into any subtle communications from the opposing agent, and was able to use this to negotiate on my behalf. Lastly, it is clear that Lori puts the needs of her clients before herself. She is always willing to jeopardize a sale, if she feels it is not the right move for her client. Lori is the rare agent that one can truly trust.”

Helena S.

I wholeheartedly recommend Lori. Despite a challenging situation—we were out of state and needed help in preparing the house to sell—she helped us get close to asking price in a timely way. She went above and beyond in coordinating work on the house, cleaning, and staging the house for sale. Overall, working with Lori was an excellent experience.

My husband and I bought our home with Lori Elkins. What could’ve been a very stressful time was nothing but a joy because of her. Lori is a pleasure to be around and made our home search a wonderful experience. Her knowledge of real estate and her genuine concern for the happiness of her clients make Lori Elkins the perfect person to work with.”

Marah Melillo

Moving to a new state is hard enough, but Lori Elkins made us feel right at home. She has gone above and beyond her duties as a Real Estate Agent. Not only did she find our beautiful home, she also helped us look for an appraiser, and inspector and nursery schools for our kids! She always made herself available to fit our schedule. When we first met Lori, she left her office and met us at the restaurant we were eating at with a bunch of listings and highlighted map of where each was located. We were impressed! She has an abundance of resources that can be used at her client’s disposal. She is knowledgeable, prompt and most of all very helpful. Not only is she an excellent Real Estate Agent, but she has also become a friend.”

Stephen Vincini

Hire her! We moved from the Philadelphia area just over two years ago and Lori could not have been more accommodating to our schedules and showing us around in the snow drifts that winter. Her knowledge of the area really helped us get our bearings at each home. She was also very attentive and listened to our needs and wants. We were growing tired of the process when she gently insisted we visit one more house she thought we would like. We fell in love with the house and Lori worked tirelessly to help us navigate a sale by an estate and where there were multiple offers. Thanks to Lori’s dedication and understanding of our needs we found a great house and we love living in Weston!

We have worked with Lori twice and would highly recommend her as a real estate agent. We first met Lori when looking for a rental property in Wilton/Westport. Lori’s friendly personality and extensive knowledge of these towns convinced us to hire her as our agent when buying a house. After several months of looking, we finally purchased a home that we love. Lori is a terrific agent for several reasons: -Lori is patient and always has a positive attitude. We never felt rushed during our search and when it seemed like we might never find the right house, Lori was optimistic. -Lori listens to what you want in a home. Lori will not waste your time showing you houses that do not meet your criteria. She saved us a substantial amount of time by previewing properties. -Lori is great at following up-all phone calls and emails were promptly returned. -Lori makes you feel as if you are her most important client, regardless of your budget. -Lori has stayed in contact with us, even after the closing. If we ever decide to sell our home, we would immediately contact Lori.”

“I have been very impressed in my work with Lori Elkins.

“Lori did a wonderful job selling my house during a less marketable time of the year.

“Lori Elkins worked with us to buy our home in Weston about two years ago.

“Lori helped me to sell my home and to purchase a new home at a very stressful time in my life.

“Moving to a new state is hard enough, but Lori Elkins made us feel right at home.

“My husband and I bought our home with Lori Elkins. What could’ve been a very stressful time was nothing but a joy because of her. Lori is a pleasure to be around and made our home search a wonderful experience. Her knowledge of real estate and her genuine concern for the happiness of her clients make Lori Elkins the perfect person to work with.”

I can’t thank you enough for all that you did to help make this deal happen. I know that being a real estate agent is a difficult job, and that you end up doing all kinds of different things in the process of selling a house. I also know that this particular deal was especially challenging. You did more than could ever have been reasonably expected of you. I am extremely grateful. I also want to say that we interviewed four agents all of whom were extremely competent and experienced. I had a gut feeling from the beginning that you would be the right choice, and equally important, so did my son. He insisted we hire you! Both of our instincts were spot on. If there is ever an opportunity to recommend an agent in your area, I won’t hesitate to recommend you. Thank you so much!

Lori was a great help at all stages of selling our mother's condo. She advised us on local craftsmen to help get the condo in shape to sell, and even met them occasionally at the condo for us. My sister and I live out of state, and had full confidence in Lori's ability to market the condo and represent us to potential buyers. She has a lot of knowledge about market conditions in the area. Eventually the condo sold for near asking price in a cool market. Thank you, Lori!

My husband and I recently embarked on a cross country move to be closer to family. We knew we were interested in an antique home in the Redding area and were very fortunate to have found Lori to help us with our search for the perfect home for us. Lori's knowledge of the Redding area and neighboring towns was invaluable, particularly as we were doing much of our communication thousands of miles apart! Once we found our dream home, Lori was with us every step of the purchasing process from negotiating price to finding an attorney to represent us to providing us with recommended service providers. Moving for anyone can be a very stressful time. Lori's calmness and support helped to make our transition to this new chapter in our lives a smooth one. We knew we could trust her and that we were in good hands. We highly recommend Lori as the consummate real estate professional and as a person of integrity.

We recently sold our home of 10 years in Weston and used Lori as our broker. From the initial pricing and marketing meetings through the closing, Lori was an ultimate professional. She is extremely knowledgeable about the current state of the market, competing properties and appropriate pricing and sales strategies. Most importantly, Lori was very easy to work with. Whether it was finding contractors to do minor repairs or recommending an extremely professional and well priced lawyer for our closing, Lori was right there for us. She was always accountable, a creative problem solver and, most importantly, actively supported our position throughout the process. We highly recommend Lori both as a person and a real estate professional.
