Sherry Scanlon immigrated to the United States from Guyana in 1980. She was driven to exceed historical and familial expectations, and quickly assimilated to her new surroundings. She hustled through odd jobs and long hours to provide a better life for her family. Twenty-seven years ago, she and her partner jumped into the life of entrepreneurship, and started a family business that still operates in the North Bronx. As most Mother-Entrepreneurs do, she learned to multi task efficiently and effectively. Sherry made time to manage her business, raise four smart and beautiful children and participate in neighborhood affairs.

Through engagement and leadership in the community, she was elected board member, Secretary, Treasurer and ultimately, President of the Pelham Bay Merchants Association spanning 1998-2011. Local real estate standout and KZA Realty owner, Kathy Zamechansky, recognized Sherry’s innate talent for working with people, communicating and getting the job done. Sherry was recruited by KZA Realty and quickly became a contributing member of the practice. In 2012, Sherry became Licensed in Commercial Sales Real Estate, and wasted no time to achieve her Brokerage License in 2014. Sherry was an instrumental component in closing +50 deals. With just a few years of real estate underneath her belt, her colleagues felt confident in her and esteemed her worthy of 2014 Businessperson of The Year, awarded by the Liberty Democratic Association. Sherry continued to excel and was awarded the 2015 Broker of The Year by the Bronx-Manhattan North Association of Realtors.

In 2017, Sherry decided to continue to challenge herself and practice in Connecticut, a long time goal of hers. She achieved her Brokerage License in both Commercial and Residential Real and was welcomed into the William Pitt Sotheby’s International Realty Family. As a home and business owner herself, Sherry is aware and in touch with the ever-changing and complex environment of real estate. With integrity, enthusiasm and beneficence, she looks forward to providing her clients with their dreams come true.
