HGTV’s “Extreme Homes” Features Modernist Home Listed with William Pitt Sotheby’s International Realty

Cornwall, Conn. (Oct. 22, 2014) — William Pitt Sotheby’s International Realty today announced that a modernist home listed with the company and designed by internationally renowned architect Peter Eisenman, known as House #VI, is being featured on the HGTV program “Extreme Homes.” Litchfield agent Stephen Drezen has the listing, which is offered at $850,000.

The episode premiered on Friday, October 24. “Extreme Homes” focuses on properties that feature highly unusual architectural designs and styles.

Eisenman, whose industrial and urban designs appear in cities all over the world, is known as one of the New York Five, a group of architects that also includes Charles Gawthmey, John Hejduk, Richard Meier and Michael Graves. House #VI, also known as the Frank Residence, features a revolutionary and efficient design with 1,500 square feet of living space, and represents one of only a limited number of residential properties created by Eisenman in this style. Located on six bucolic acres with a year-round rushing brook and a heated, fenced and gated gunite pool, the property also has a Civil War-era school house that is currently used as a guest house/studio.

“A buying opportunity like this one only comes around once in a generation. This is one of the most important and iconic modernist masterpieces in the Northeast,” said Drezen. “It is so exciting to see this incredible property get the attention it deserves through HGTV’s ‘Extreme Homes.’”
