Steve Pener Joins William Pitt Sotheby’s International Realty

Kent native brings unique skills and a strong sense of community to the firm

Kent, Conn. (October 23, 2014) — William Pitt Sotheby’s International Realty today announced that Steve Pener, a Kent native and former New York City magazine publisher of several years, has joined the company and will be based in the firm’s Kent brokerage.

Pener comes to the firm with numerous strengths as a Realtor due to his understanding of home construction, land development, as well as marketing.  He has been an active member of the Kent community since 2005, where he enjoys working on houses and overseeing various renovation projects including kitchen remodels, entire home renovations, new construction and more.  In addition, Pener has a thorough understanding of land development and local land-use policies, which was formed by years of working in land surveying.

“As a native of Litchfield County, Steve truly knows the area,” said Matthew Day, manager of William Pitt Sotheby’s International Realty’s Kent brokerage.  “It’s quite clear that he is thankful  not only for its rich history and natural beauty, but also for the strong sense of community found throughout these small towns.  I am certain that Steve will continue to add to this local pride with his strong contribution to helping fellow Litchfield County neighbors find the perfect home.”

“My main goal as a Realtor has always been to work hard and be honest,” said Pener. “I’d never call myself a salesman. I like to get to know my clients on a more personal level and treat them as trusted friends. Real estate is a fun experience, and I look forward to sharing it with my future buyers and sellers.”

Currently, Pener volunteers on Kent’s Chamber of Commerce, coaches youth sports and acts as property steward for the Kent Land Trust. He is also an advocate for smart-growth and land conservation, which led him to serve on Kent’s Planning & Zoning Commission for many years, as well as on Pond Mountain Land Trust’s Board of Trustees.
