William Pitt Sotheby’s International Realty Agents Mark Madonna and Jeffrey Phillips Represent Highest Sale in Kent Since 2013

Kent, Conn. – January 17, 2017 – William Pitt Sotheby’s International Realty announced today that Washington Depot agents Mark Madonna and Jeffrey Phillips recently handled the highest sale in Kent, Conn., since 2013. The 183-acre farm sold for a record price of $2,800,000, surpassing the previous record set in 2016—a 99-acre property located at 127 Anderson Road, which was also represented by Madonna and Phillips.

Both sales combined, which occurred during the same 12-month period, represent the largest amount of acreage sold in Kent, Conn., since 2011, at nearly 300 acres. According to the CTMLS, the two sales handled by Madonna and Phillips surpass the total acreage of all other transactions in town taken together, which totaled 230 acres.

The recently sold 183-acre property, located at 17 Straight Road in South Kent at the gateway of Lake Waramaug, offers lush pasture, woods and frontage on the West Aspetuck River. Known as Straight Farm, the Litchfield County property includes a four-bedroom Colonial home, as well as two post-and-beam barns.

“We are proud to represent this stunning Litchfield County property,” said Madonna. “It is a New England paradise, with endless possibilities. We are honored to have contributed to just a small part of its thriving future.”

“It’s truly humbling to be a part of a record-breaking sale like this, both for its impressive closing price and expansive acreage,” added Phillips. “Straight Farm is worthy of every bit of attention it receives.”

Continuing their streak of representing very significant properties for sale, Madonna and Phillips have just brought to the market 23 Kane Mountain Road in Kent, Conn., the former home of famed stage actress and singer Patti LuPone. The restored classic New England farmhouse, which contains an array of modern features, rests on over 85 acres with mountain views. Outdoor amenities include an immense stone loggia overlooking the view, gunite pool and authentic Civil War-era cabin, moved to the site from Indiana and serving as both a pool cabana and rustic guest house with full kitchen, bath and private sleeping loft. The private estate also boasts a greenhouse, two-stall horse barn and separate six-bay garage with 1,000 square-foot loft.
