William Pitt Sotheby’s International Realty Hosts Artist Reception as Part of “Sundays at Sotheby’s” Series

Firm’s Rowayton brokerage set to display artwork of local photographer Jamie Bannon

Rowayton, Conn. – May 23, 2016 William Pitt Sotheby’s International Realty announced today that the firm’s Rowayton brokerage will be hosting an artist reception as part of the “Sundays at Sotheby’s” series, a monthly program in which the office welcomes new local art to display in its office. The reception is typically held on the first Sunday of each month. Local photographer Jamie Bannon will introduce her work on Sunday, June 5, 2016 from 4-6 PM.

Born in Manchester, New Hampshire, and now based in northwestern Connecticut, Jamie Bannon appreciates the distinctive scenery of New England, which is clearly evident in her work. Jamie’s passion for travel and capturing the constantly changing, beautiful moments in time have paved the way for her career in photography. Besides New England, Jamie has also resided in Rhode Island, Barcelona, Chicago, San Francisco, Los Angeles and Denver, and has completed two cross-country trips. As much as she adores exploring new places, Jamie describes returning home to New England’s red barns, indecisive skies and historic cityscapes as never losing its charm. Her subject matter ranges from waterfalls and skyscrapers to quiet mountain tops, bustling city streets, grandiose landscapes, as well as the smallest detail of a moment in time. Jamie holds a bachelor’s degree in studio art and art history from Trinity College in Hartford, Conn., and currently lives and works as a freelance photographer in North Granby, Conn.

During the upcoming June 5th event, the Rowayton office will showcase pieces from her “road trip: usa” series, which includes several local Connecticut scenes. Wine and hors d’oeuvres will be served in a casual setting with opportunities to talk with Bannon and discuss her work. All events of the evening are open to the public.

“We are excited to display the stunning work of Jamie Bannon on our walls,” said Darien agent Molly Crosland, who spearheads much of the brokerage’s artist series. “Jamie’s uncanny ability to find and focus on the beauty in all things, both big and small, is truly amazing. Admiring her work is the perfect way to appreciate the often overlooked wonders present in the world, and of course, our beloved state of Connecticut.”
