William Pitt Sotheby’s International Realty Hosts Artist Reception as Part of “Sundays at Sotheby’s” Series

Firm’s Rowayton brokerage set to display work of local artist Dana Goodfellow

Rowayton, Conn. – September 3, 2015 William Pitt Sotheby’s International Realty announced today that the firm’s Rowayton brokerage will be hosting an artist reception as part of the “Sundays at Sotheby’s” series, a monthly program in which the office welcomes new local art to display in its office. The reception is typically held on the first Sunday of each month. Local artist Dana Goodfellow will introduce her work on Sunday, September 13, 2015 from 4-6 PM.

Goodfellow is an award-winning, third generation artist, primarily known for her focus on the use of light in her paintings. Goodfellow’s unique choice of color is greatly influenced by her past career in the fashion industry, where she worked for a number of renowned companies including Saks Fifth Avenue, Anne Klein & Co., and Blassport Ltd. While her work tends to follow an impressionist or abstract style, Goodfellow has been classically trained, receiving her Bachelors of Arts in art and art history from Marymount College in Tarrytown, N.Y. Goodfellow gained additional experience and knowledge at the Arts Students League in New York City and the Silvermine Guild School in Connecticut, and has studied with other talented artists including George Passantino, John Phillip Osborne and David Dunlop. She is also a member of various art associations, societies and clubs, and has served on the board of the Rowayon Art Center for seven years. Her paintings can be found in collections throughout New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, South Carolina, Michigan and Florida.  Goodfellow currently teaches classes in landscape and abstract painting at the Rowayton Arts Center.

During the September 13th “Sundays at Sotheby’s” artist reception, the Rowayton office will welcome some of Goodfellow’s latest paintings to its walls. Wine and hors d’oeuvres will be served in a casual setting with opportunities to talk with Goodfellow, and discuss her work. All events of the evening are open to the public.

“Dana is a perennial favorite artist in Rowayton,” said Darien agent Molly Crosland, who spearheads much of the brokerage’s artist series. “Her work is simply stunning, and I look forward to displaying it throughout the office for all to appreciate and enjoy. Be sure to stop by for yet another successful artist reception, which has proven to continually be a wonderful community event that celebrates and honors some great local talent.”
