William Pitt Sotheby’s International Realty Participates in the Hamburg Fair to Support Agricultural Organization The Grange

Old Lyme, Conn. (September 3, 2014) — William Pitt Sotheby’s International Realty recently participated in the Hamburg Fair held on August 15, 16 and 17, which supports The Grange, a fraternal organization with roots in rural and agricultural history in pastoral communities all across America.  The Connecticut State Grange serves its districts in multiple ways, some of which include hosting family activities and service programs, gathering legislative objectives that support the interests of Connecticut residents at the local and state levels of government and more, with all efforts relevant to the local community.

The firm hosted a booth at the event, where company representatives handed out free items to support their local Grange and community, while introducing the company’s new Old Lyme brokerage to potential buyers and sellers.  In addition, volunteers manning the booth offered a free drawing for a children’s toy basket and a 40-inch flat screen TV.

Participants of the day’s event included Old Lyme brokerage manager Maureen Swarts, marketing coordinator Bonnie Foster and sales associates Allyson Cotton, Don and Kathy Shannehan, Byron Lazine, Deb Boyd, Janet Peckinpaugh, Nancy Johnson, Margaret Morgan, MJ DeRisio, Sue Darmon and John Swarts.

Other community projects hosted by the Grange include organizing sport leagues, providing hearing testing, building community centers, sponsoring local events and fairs, staffing child care programs, organizing voter registration drives and more. Each year The Grange also awards student loans and scholarships to accredited colleges and universities.

“The Grange has such a positive impact on the area,” said Swarts. “It offers countless local services and unifying opportunities, and truly gives each and every individual a voice that is heard. We were thrilled to be a part of such an important community event, and thank everyone who helped make the day a great success.”
