William Pitt Sotheby’s International Realty, Salisbury Bank and Lime Rock Drivers Club Partner to Host Great Estates and Exotic Cars Charity Event

Participants will be chauffeured on tour of four multi-million dollar properties and view rare vintage luxury cars along the way, benefiting SOAR, Susan B. Anthony Project and VIM

Lakeville, Conn. (September 18, 2015) — William Pitt Sotheby’s International Realty today announced that the company is partnering with Salisbury Bank and Lime Rock Drivers Club, a Lakeville, Conn.-based exclusive members-only club catering to racing and driving enthusiasts with a passion for high end cars, to host a great estates and exotic cars tour. The event will benefit three charities including SOAR, the Susan B. Anthony Project and VIM.

Participants will begin the tour at Lime Rock Park, home to one of the oldest road racing courses in the country. From there they will be chauffeured to four multi-million dollar estates featured on the tour in both the Litchfield Hills and Berkshire County. At each of the properties, guests will have the opportunity to view a selection of luxurious cars on display while enjoying light refreshments. Following the tour will be a reception with food, wine and a silent auction.

A significant selection of unique cars will be featured, with two initial announcements including a 1957 Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz Convertible, an extremely rare car inspired by Motorama car shows, and a 1958 Mercedes 300SL Roadster, first introduced at the 1957 Geneva Motor Show. One of the properties on the tour, Sugar Hill Farm, has had a long association with vintage cars, as its owner, the founder of the New York City auction house Guernsey’s, is a longtime car collector and even held the first-ever auction devoted exclusively to sports and racing cars. On the tour, the property will host an original and nearly untouched 1933 Rolls Royce 20/25 Shooting Brake, one of only 12 believed to have ever been created; a 1964 Ferrari 330GT, said to have been Enzo Ferrari’s favorite creation; and a 1948 MGTC, one of the original competitors in the Bridgehampton Road Races.

Proceeds from the auction, as well as all funds raised from the $50 admission ticket, will go to SOAR, the Susan B. Anthony Project and VIM. SOAR, standing for “Seek, Originate, Aspire, Reach,” is an educational enrichment program for Salisbury, Conn.’s Central School, providing extra-curricular learning opportunities to students through after-school workshops exposing them to subjects such as music, art, fitness, math, engineering, cooking and science, all taught by local experts. The Susan B. Anthony Project offers crisis services and support to victims of domestic violence and sexual assault including counseling and a crisis hotline. VIM, or “Volunteers in Medicine,” is a group of dedicated health care professionals who provide services for eligible, uninsured residents of the Berkshire region. The nonprofit organization offers general medical care as well as dental, optometry, psychiatry, nutritional counseling and more.

The event will be held on the morning of Sunday, October 18, 2015, with admissions at both 10am and 11am, and the reception immediately following. Lime Rock president Skip Barber will be the honorary chairperson for the event.

“This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to view private luxury estates, see one of a kind collectible automobiles, and enjoy great food and friends, all while benefiting the community,” said Newell. “In short, it is a dream event with something for everyone.
