Sotheby’s International Realty® recently announced it has expanded its global presence to some key luxury markets across the globe. The brand now has approximately 960 offices in 72 countries and territories and includes more than 21,000 sales associates.

Madrid Sotheby’s International Realty is one of the newest Sotheby’s International Realty affiliates, located in Spain’s capital city of Madrid. The firm is owned by Paul and Susie Kempe, who also own Mallorca Sotheby’s International Realty, Menorca Sotheby’s International Realty and the brand’s affiliate in Ibiza. Juan Luis Sáez, a Madrid native formerly with ONE Sotheby’s International Realty in Miami, Florida, will serve as director of Madrid Sotheby’s International Realty.

“As a key international business hub and one of Europe’s largest cities, it is important for the Sotheby’s International Realty brand to have a strategic presence in Madrid,” said Philip White, president and chief executive officer of Sotheby’s International Realty Affiliates LLC. “Paul Kempe and his team have built strong, multilingual offices across Spain’s Balearic Islands with great success and we are proud to support their growth into Madrid.”

Madrid Sotheby’s International Realty will serve the luxury residential real estate markets in the greater metropolitan area as well as in Aravaca, Pozuelo, Las Rozas, Majadahonda, Madrid City, Mirasierra and Puerta de Hierro.

Sotheby’s International Realty has also seen expansion in the Far East. This past summer Sotheby’s International Realty also announced plans for List Sotheby’s International Realty to expand the brand’s presence in Indonesia and Vietnam by establishing offices in the important markets of Jakarta and Bali, as well as Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi. Led by Owner and Chief Executive Officer Hisashi Kitami, List Sotheby’s International Realty currently has a strong presence throughout the Asia-Pacific region including offices in Hawaii, Hong Kong, the Philippines, Japan, Singapore and a new office in Thailand opening September of this year.

“Because of geographical and economical closeness, the addition of Indonesia and Vietnam to our current portfolio of locations will facilitate more cross-border transactions, which will be beneficial for all stakeholders including our clients, employees and agents,” said Kitami.

Back stateside, Sotheby’s International Realty has also seen its footprint grow on the East Coast with new brokerages in North Carolina, Massachusetts and Alabama. Pines Sotheby’s International Realty will serve the luxury residential real estate markets in the Sandhills Region of North Carolina including Pinehurst, Southern Pines, Whispering Pines, Carthage, Aberdeen, and Seven Lakes and the surrounding areas. The firm is owned and operated by Kelly Miller, Melody McClelland and Keith Harris.

Barrett Sotheby’s International Realty now has six offices and 145 independent sales associates across Middlesex County.

Down in Alabama, Amanda Howard Real Estate in Huntsville will now operate as Amanda Howard Sotheby’s International Realty. Owned and operated by Amanda Howard, the firm was established in 2009 and serves the residential real estate markets in North Alabama, including Greater Huntsville/Madison County and Lake Guntersville.
