Sotheby’s International Realty Embraces the Windy City

One of the largest cities in America, Chicago is widely recognized as a center of worldwide commerce and trade, and its reputation in business is often reflected in the pop culture landscape. Whether as the Windy City or the City of the Big Shoulders, Chicago is instantly recognizable on a global scale. Kraft Foods, McDonalds and Boeing are just a few of the most recognizable corporations in America that call this city their home.Chicago’s bragging rights also extend to the legacies of their professional sports teams and their culinary arts. The Windy City can only be described as a truly American city, built on the values and character that made this country what it is today.

During the month of September, William Pitt Sotheby’s International Realty traveled to Chicago and represented the firm at the annual Sotheby’s International Realty Leadership Forum. It was an enormous pleasure to attend this luxury real estate conference and gain insights into our global initiatives and the challenges we face. The three-day event brought together over 220 members of our worldwide affiliate network at the InterContinental Chicago Magnificent Mile, providing us with a great opportunity to connect with other brokers, owners and managers from our network, forging new relationships and sharing best practices.

We had the opportunity to participate in exchanges on new marketing initiatives, resources and industry trends. We learned about the results of our brand’s unique global marketing partnerships, we heard success stories from our network’s powerful referral system, and through presentations by owners and operators from the worldwide network, we discovered innovative ideas for developing stronger company cultures and delivering even better service to our customers. In addition, we came away with new ideas for recruiting agents, expanding our businesses and taking full advantage of our brand’s exclusive relationship with Sotheby’s Auction House.

One important point emphasized during the conference was that international business has continued to increase in Canada and China, presenting our brand with vast opportunities for growth and development. In China alone, sales increased from 6% in 2006 to 30% in 2012, and it is estimated that in the near future the country will be the number one English speaking country in the world.

Sotheby’s International Realty remains a leading force in luxury real estate,” said Vin Socci, Director of Marketing for William Pitt Sotheby’s International Realty. “Backed by the strength of our brand and its strategic partnerships with iconic media companies such as The New York Times and The Wall Street Journal, we are positioned for success both globally and locally in 2013.”

We value the numerous opportunities and experiences we gained on our trip to Chicago. William Pitt Sotheby’s International Realty was well represented at the event and achieved a keen understanding of our brand’s global vision. We look forward to another exciting year in real estate as well as our next conference.
