The Spirit of Excellence

Our company is proud to have an office environment of real estate professionals who share a dedication to giving back. In recent weeks we posted on this space about our initiatives to provide support to Americares, a nonprofit humanitarian organization that extends immediate emergency response and long-term assistance programs for those in need all over the world. At the same time, we are equally committed to throwing our support behind important local organizations focusing on the communities in which we operate. Based in Westchester County, HOPE Community Services is one such organization, and we are thrilled that this not-for-profit agency has honored two of our own for their support. 

HOPE Community Services recently hosted a 27th anniversary gala event, where two employees with Julia B. Fee Sotheby’s International Realty received the prestigious Spirit of Excellence Award. We offer our congratulations to Ali Greene, Regional Marketing Manager, and Ginny Anderson, Senior Mortgage Consultant, for this recognition of their dedication and commitment to an important humanitarian cause.

Founded in 1984, HOPE Community Services is Westchester County’s largest pantry and soup kitchen. Though it was initially founded to provide food to the hungry, the organization has grown into an agency that meets many more of the needs of local low-income families including clothing, development of language skills, immigration services and emotional support, as well as assistance in finding jobs, entitlements, health care and treatment for substance abuse through its Community Outreach/Self-Sufficiency Program (SSP). The agency has also been working with an increasing population of women with children, elderly people living on fixed incomes and whole families who were relying on unemployment benefits that have run out or are dealing with cuts in work hours. In the last 12 months, HOPE has provided over 390,000 meals and assisted over 1,400 low income households through SSP.

In addition to Ali Greene and Ginny Anderson, our agents have been instrumental in our efforts to support this organization, giving both their time and their money. On an ongoing basis, our agents can be found packaging groceries for the food pantry to hand out to families in need, serving meals in the soup kitchen and collecting food in our offices to donate to the pantry. In addition, we raise funds so that our agents can purchase groceries that they themselves use to prepare meals at the soup kitchen. While we are active with HOPE all year long, we are especially proud to have raised enough money during the past two Thanksgiving seasons to provide turkeys for families to enjoy their holiday at home.

Held on the evening of January 24 at the Beckwith Pointe Club in New Rochelle, New York, the gala featured appearances by New York Yankee Mariano Rivera and his wife, Pastor Clara Rivera, who were presented with the Mary Lou McNaney Founder’s Award. A Commitment to Service Award was also given to the Aronin Family. Congratulations to everyone who was honored for their support of HOPE Community Services at this wonderful gala event.
