Kathy Mitchell is a very hands-on manager who is as focused on building relationship s as she is on building business. Responsible for overseeing William Pitt Sotheby's International Realty Madison and Guilford offices, which have thrived under her leadership, she strongly believes that supporting the talent and nurturing the potential of her agents is key to the quality service and results they in turn provide their clients.

Kathy, who moved to Connecticut in 1998 and became a licensed realtor in 2000, was long fascinated by the field and investment values of property having bought, sold and lived in several homes over the years. Originally from Long Island, she was also inspired early on by her mother, a broker who owned and operated a real estate office in Oyster Bay. Prior to pursuing her own career in the field, Kathy worked in Manhattan at Ogilvy & Mather in Human Resources for 13 years, ultimately as Manager, Vice President of HR.

In 2005, when the premium Sotheby's brand came to the Connecticut shoreline and joined forces with William Pitt, Kathy had a yearning to do what she'd always done so well - be a manager again. She was hired to launch the flagship office in Madison which has consistently held the #1 spot in market share over the past few years, then additionally took on the Guilford satellite office. Her expert ability to recruit and train the highest-quality agents, combined with her fair, honest ethics and open-door policy, have enabled Kathy to both attract and retain the leading professionals in the market. These philosophies have also resulted in her nomination for Manager of the Year in 2007 and 2008, and a 74% increase in units in the Madison office in 2007.

Prior to opening the WPSIR office, Kathy worked as an agent for a local real estate company and was a consistent top producer in her company. "My goal is similar to that of William Pitt Sotheby's International Realty in that we strive for an unsurpassed degree of service excellence plus a winning team environment for our agents. It's so important that they have the best tools, training and resources at their disposal to best serve our clients, and I'm here to support them in any way I can to help them excel."

Kathy has also remained active in her industry on the Board of the Midd-Shore Association of Realtors Community Relations Committee and Community Service Committee, still serving on the latter. She additionally sits on the Board of the CAR Risk Reduction Committee. Kathy also served as the former Chairperson and Board member of the Guilford Board of Assessment Appeals, plus over the years she's been heavily involved in local area schools.
