William Pitt Sotheby’s International Realty Agents Utilize Home Staging to Achieve Speedy Near Full-Price Sale of Westport Ranch

Westport, Conn. (Aug 11, 2014) — William Pitt Sotheby’s International Realty agent team Joan Wright and Jeri Kelley achieved a near full-price offer on a Westport, Conn. cul-de-sac ranch within one week of listing and closed within 30 days after collaborating with the owner on a variety of simple home staging techniques, the firm announced.

Listed for $799,000 and sold for $789,000, the 2,092 square-foot ranch offers three bedrooms and two baths and is situated on 1.1 acres. The home also has a large living room with fireplace and built-ins, large windows and an outdoor brick patio.

Prior to listing, Wright and Kelley recommended painting the interior and replacing the carpeting, light fixtures and cabinetry hardware. The agents worked with the seller, helping to select colors and styles, and monitoring the weeklong renovation. Broker and public open houses were held a few days following the completion of the renovation, and one month after the launch the sale was closed.

“Joan Wright and Jeri Kelley were instrumental in helping us sell our house in a short period of time and at a fair price,” said Wendell Kurtz, the seller of the property. “They stayed in constant communication and were very responsive, and their excellent knowledge of the market was extremely helpful in positioning and pricing our house for a quick sale. Joan and Jeri went above and beyond our expectations, and I highly recommend working with them.”

Kurtz was referred to the agents by his next-door neighbor, who had previously worked with the team on a sale that took only two weeks.

Wright and Kelley combined bring more than 30 years of experience in residential real estate sales in all price ranges, and have consistently been recognized with awards for the level of service they provide.
