Kristine Newell Named New Brokerage Manager for William Pitt Sotheby’s International Realty’s Litchfield Hills and Berkshires Brokerages

New manager with local roots brings strong focus on social media and visual marketing

Litchfield County, Conn. and Berkshires, Mass. (September 17, 2015) — William Pitt Sotheby’s International Realty today announced that Kristine Newell has been named Brokerage Manager for the firm’s five brokerages in the Litchfield Hills and Berkshires. Newell previously served as Assistant Manager for the region, a role she assumed earlier in 2015. Prior to that, she was a sales agent based out of the firm’s offices in Washington Depot and Litchfield, Conn., with 14 years of experience in residential real estate sales.

A lifelong resident of Litchfield County, Newell brings tremendous local knowledge and expertise in the market areas that comprise Litchfield County, Conn. and Berkshire County, Mass. She also possesses a strong background in drawing upon the strengths of social media as a real estate marketing tool, and in training sales associates how to utilize both social media and mobile devices to communicate effectively with clients and sell properties.

Having first entered the real estate industry at the age of 24, Newell has been one of Litchfield County’s youngest luxury real estate agents, also proving one of its most successful over the course of her career. As a sales agent she was consistently recognized by the company with its coveted Gold and Top Agent awards. She has worked with a range of individuals from high-profile clients to first-time buyers, and has handled the sale of several noteworthy large estates.

Now as manager, Newell is already drawing upon her local roots to strengthen the company’s ties to the community. She has facilitated a partnership with Lime Rock Drivers Club, a Lakeville, Conn.-based exclusive members-only club catering to racing and driving enthusiasts with a passion for high end cars, and is working with the organization to host a great estates and exotic cars tour for members and professionals from the real estate community in October. The event will benefit three charities including SOAR, the Susan B. Anthony Project and VIM.

“Having spent the majority of her adult life selling real estate while also raising a family in Litchfield County, Kristine has achieved a strong and steady path to success,” said Paul Breunich, President and CEO of William Pitt Sotheby’s International Realty. “She was also born and raised in the area, and knows these communities inside and out. Now our sales force and clientele will benefit not only from her in-depth knowledge, but also her incredible work ethic, marketing skills and technological savvy. I look forward to working with her.”

Newell specializes in the use of social media, photography and innovative luxury marketing, and will draw upon these strengths to assist agents in providing the highest level of service to buyers and sellers.

“The local real estate landscape is changing, and we need to keep up,” Newell said. “Facebook, Zillow, Instagram and visual marketing are altering the way that people sell homes. One of my jobs in keeping our sales force at the top of their game is to help them maximize social media and the internet. At the same time, I will help our sales force to take full advantage of the global marketing reach offered through the extraordinary Sotheby’s International Realty brand.”

Before entering the real estate industry, Newell was an editor with the CBS affiliate WFSB 3. She has a degree from Goddard College.

Newell will work as a non-competing manager. She is based in the company’s Great Barrington, Mass. and Kent, Lakeville, Litchfield and Washington Depot, Conn., brokerages. She can be reached at [email protected] or 860.459.7797.
