Margaret Muir, Top Agent Company-Wide for William Pitt Sotheby’s International Realty, Launches The Margaret Muir Team

Madison, Conn. (September 5, 2023) — William Pitt Sotheby’s International Realty today announced that multiple award-winning and market-leading agent Margaret Muir has launched The Margaret Muir Team, which will be based at the company’s Madison brokerage.

Specializing in waterfront and water-area properties, Muir has more than 30 years of real estate experience, has sold $650 million in sales since 2005 and is currently the number-one agent for William Pitt Sotheby’s International Realty company-wide, based on her closed dollar volume for 2022. This year marks the sixth time that Muir has achieved this distinction since 2007. She is also consistently ranked first for Shoreline sales dollar volume within the Madison brokerage and was included in the 2023 REAL Trends list of “America’s Best” real estate professionals.

In addition to Muir, The Margaret Muir Team includes agents Clint Rodenberg and Jim Sperry, as well as administrative pro Maria Schiavello.

Rodenberg joined Muir at William Pitt Sotheby’s International Realty 15 years ago following a career as a top executive in the wine and spirits industry, including serving as Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer for the U.S. wine and spirits division of LVMH (Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton), the French luxury conglomerate. Bringing his exceptional business sense, marketing savvy and people skills to the world of real estate, he has a distinct edge when it comes to strategically and aggressively marketing properties to generate optimal exposure, presentation appeal and sales price.

Sperry began working with Muir more than six years ago, immediately translating his extensive business background into real estate success. His previous experience includes co-founding a private biopharmaceutical company, as well as sourcing capital for real estate, oil exploration and restaurant-franchise limited partnerships. He also co-founded and operated two privately held companies engaged in sports marketing, events and television production of live college and professional sports. A 43-year Shoreline resident, he is also a past President of the Yale Hockey Association and past President and Board member of the Madison Youth Lacrosse Association.

Schiavello joined Muir 12 years ago following a multi-faceted career in the New York City garment industry, where she worked as Director of Merchandising for a multi-million dollar producer of men’s and women’s apparel and accessories. Her technical and organizational expertise, in addition to her exceptional interpersonal skills, make her an invaluable member of The Margaret Muir Team.

Launching the team, according to Muir, is a way to formalize the dynamic working relationship this group has maintained behind the scenes for years. “Although the brand and the following are mine, I’m lucky enough to have had this amazing group of people who share the same vision of how this business should be done, and are interested enough to make a full commitment to me,” Muir explained of her decision to expand her brand as an official team.
