Phil Caruso Named New Brokerage Manager for William Pitt Sotheby’s International Realty in Stamford

Stamford native returns to the firm where he began his career with over 25 years of experience and top-producing track record

Stamford, Conn. – November 3, 2016 William Pitt Sotheby’s International Realty today announced that Phil Caruso has been named Brokerage Manager for the firm’s office in Stamford, Conn. Caruso brings to the management role more than 25 years of experience as both a top-producing agent and owner of his own real estate firm.

A lifelong resident of Stamford, Caruso began his real estate career in 1990 with William Pitt Sotheby’s International Realty, then known as William Pitt Real Estate, and quickly became one of the company’s top producers. He left in 1996 to start his own brokerage firm, Marr and Caruso Realty Group, and as owner/partner for the next 16 years, helped to cement the company’s reputation as one of Stamford’s top producing brokerages. By the time Caruso moved on in 2012, he had played an instrumental part in growing the agent team at Marr and Caruso Realty Group to 35 sales professionals.

Over the course of his career, Caruso has served as president of the Stamford Board of Realtors, and was named Realtor of the Year in 2008. Most recently, he was a sales agent with William Raveis Real Estate in Stamford.

Caruso stated that he views his new position with William Pitt Sotheby’s International Realty as a return to his roots. “I am excited to come home to the company where I launched my real estate career so many years ago,” said Caruso. “As brokerage manager, I am greatly looking forward to working with one of the most exceptional real estate teams in town. My mission will be the same as it has always been: to provide best in class service to buyers and sellers, and deliver the highest level of support and guidance to my agents.”

Paul Breunich, President and CEO of William Pitt Sotheby’s International Realty, expressed that Caruso’s strong sales and management background, along with his expertise and status as a lifelong Stamford native, make him an ideal fit with the company and its heritage.

“When Phil originally worked with us in the 1990s, he ranked as one of the favorites of Mr. Pitt, the founder of our company,” said Breunich. “I am proud to welcome him back to the team to manage our flagship office in Stamford. He is a deeply dedicated and knowledgeable real estate professional, and he knows this city and its marketplace inside and out. Moreover, with his ownership experience he knows what it takes to be a competitive and productive brokerage in the industry today.”
