Sotheby’s International Realty Partners with Apple News

AppleSotheby’s International Realty® just announced its exciting new advertising partnership with Apple as the one and only real estate advertiser for Apple News, a brand-new application available on all devices with the iOS 9 operating system or later. The brand is one of 20 advertising partners featured on the recently added app, and the only one in real estate.

Since going live on October 16th, the Apple News app has been reported as the #3 driving source for overall traffic on sothebysrealty.com, drawing in a different audience, with 98% of users appearing to be new visitors to the site. Google and Facebook remain the website’s top two referring sites.

The special advertising arrangement provides the Sotheby’s International Realty brand with a 5% “share of voice” (SOV)—the percentage of advertising for any one brand among the total ads featured—in the “For You” section of the app. This personalized option supplies a feed of relevant news stories from sources and publications that are preselected by users. The business channel, which can be accessed by tapping the “Explore” option on the app, permits the brand 25% SOV. Interested users can even add a special Sotheby’s International Realty channel within Apple News, which displays daily content from the brand’s blog, Extraordinary Living.

In addition to this incredible outlet, the brand also announced its plans to supplement advertising with an extra “iAD” advertising campaign with Apple. This not only allows Sotheby’s International Realty to achieve further exposure across thousands of other mobile apps, but it also reaches a global audience, targeting real estate aficionados all over the world.

“This is an exciting new development for our brand, which always remains on the cutting edge. The app allows us to potentially reach over 800 million iPhones and iPads, and within one week of launching, it’s already the #3 traffic driver to the Sotheby’s International Realty website,” said our President and CEO, Paul Breunich. “The level of exposure our new Apple News partnership realizes for our brand, agents and clients is nothing short of extraordinary.”
