Charlotte Wilbur

Charlotte Wilbur is a New York City native now raising her four children in New Canaan. After six years in town, she has a nuanced understanding not only of New Canaan but of the distinctive features of the neighboring towns of Darien, Norwalk, Westport, Wilton, and Ridgefield. As an award-winning interior designer, Charlotte owns and operates Crosby & Co, and thus is highly specialized in quickly recognizing a home’s potential, what improvements are feasible, and at what cost. Charlotte attended The Chapin School in New York City, and received a BA in English Literature from Middlebury College, with highest honors. Charlotte’s business and project management background, with roles at Deutsche Asset Management and as Deputy Director of Concessions for the New York City Parks Department before establishing her interior design business, ensures that clients’ needs are taken care of in an organized, detail-oriented manner with a constant eye on their bottom line. Charlotte understands that for most people, buying and selling a house is not only financially the most significant transaction they will undertake, but for many intangible reasons is also the most fundamental part of establishing a life for oneself and one’s family.  When she isn’t hard at work buying, selling, and decorating her clients’ homes, Charlotte enjoys tennis, skiing, running, and traveling with her husband and four children. Two daughters, two sons, and two dogs keep her busy during her free time!

Gary Schmid

Gary was raised in the Village of Seven Hills, Ohio. His early interests were horses, amateur radio (now 62 years playing radio), hunting in the farm fields, camping, fishing, and boating at the family homestead on Middle Bass Island in Lake Erie. He had a love for aviation and submarines early in life and joined the US Navy Naval Nuclear Power Program after graduating high school. Gary qualified as a Nuclear Power Plant Operator. Qualifications in submarines came aboard the USS Nautilus SSN 571, the world’s first nuclear submarine. After serving his country for eight years, he decided to return to civilian life. After leaving the Navy and having attained all his pilot ratings, including the coveted Airline Transport Pilot Rating, Gary pursued a career in commercial aviation, flying worldwide in many types of aircraft. To ensure a steady income for himself and his family, he also studied and licensed as a Real Estate Salesperson and later as a Real Estate Broker. His training and experience in existing home sales, land development, corporate relocation including certification as a Relocation Resources Certified Relocation Specialist, a member and certified corporate relocation instructor for International Relocation Consultants and a principal relocation coordinator for such large group moves to CT as Bristol Myers, Richardson Merrill Vicks, etc. As a regional manager for a multi-office real estate franchise eventually led to opening his own multi-office brokerage along the Connecticut shoreline and Fishers Island, New York. After leaving the airlines and eventually retiring as a corporate pilot for General Dynamics Electric Boat Corporation, Gary was excited to return to full-time real estate sales working with the amazing Team at Wiliam Pitt Sotheby’s International Real Estate. He is excited to put his many years of experience and skills in various disciplines, using proven systems and processes, and his 28+ years of real estate experience to work for you.
