My husband and I are first time homebuyers and although the process was very daunting, Melissa clearly explained each step and helped find the perfect home for us. Melissa is exptremely knowledgeable and was able answer any questions we had about the buying process, the areas where we were looking, future construction ideas and possibilities, energy, taxes, schools, architecture, making offers, and so much more. Melissa is super organized, very hard working and extremely quick to send thoughtful responses to texts, calls and emails. She went above and beyond in the months we worked together and was even able to pick us up from the train from Manhattan, take us to viewing appointments (for which she always set up a great itinerary) and drop us off at the train afterward. She also took the time to send us informative emails about solar power, and press about the areas where we were looking. When it came time to choose an inspector, lawyer, and lender, Melissa had lots of great recommendations making the choosing process much easier. One of the things we loved most about working with Melissa is that she is very kind and not in any way pushy. She made a conscious effort to find what was best for us, and was a tough negotiator when it came to getting an accepted offer on our favorite home - we feel lucky that we had her on our side. Overall a great experience. Melissa is knowledgeable about areas around Westchester and about the local markets. She is very flexible and had no problem meeting with us last minute, or showing us the same home over and over to make sure we were sure about our decisions. The only issue that we had was with the mortgage broker that we chose that was on the list of people she has worked with. It's not her fault that we had a bad experience, but I will advise, especially for first time buyers like us, to shop around A LOT when deciding on who you want to work with for your mortgage. We silently 'fired' our first agent for giving us wishy-washy answers on important decision making issues like schools saying that she couldn't answer due to fair housing laws. When we met Melissa we let her know that schools were an important factor in our decision. She responded with statistics that she memorized and backed up with data that she provided us in a folder which was really helpful! Fair Housing laws apparently don't prohibit Realtors from doing research. Not only did she help us narrow our search to a school district, she helped us narrow our search down to a specific neighborhood.
