Colleen Canavan

 

Working with Colleen over the past four years has been many things.  Educational, eye opening, exciting and most of all pleasurable.  Colleen has worked diligently and artistically to create a beautiful home for me and my family.  

Colleen's gentle nudges were oftentimes met with push-back or annoying questions;  she handled each one with humor and determination.   That determination along with her ability to find humor in most anything are just two of the many attributes Colleen possesses.

Colleen worked absolute magic on our house, turning it from a long-in-the-tooth 1960s colonial into a beautifully fun and stylish standout that, 3 years later, we feel excited to live in every single day.   She took as a starting point the mid-modern aesthetics of our suburban house and interpreted that idea through a contemporary lens with the result that our house has an integrity and a hip vibe that is rare and wonderful.  Each room has its own look and feel, but they all mesh together to form a more satisfying entity. 

Colleen accomplished this efficiently and economically, listening to us but also giving a gentle pushback when we needed it to make the right decision.   We regret not one decision that she encouraged us to make, and we prize all the things she did to make our home a lasting delight.
