By Tyler R. Morrissey

Located where Metro North’s New Haven line meets Interstate 95 is a delightful village northeast of Midtown Manhattan, offering a highly desirable lifestyle for all. Larchmont is rich with green space, which includes parks, playgrounds and other recreational spaces. Most notably, Larchmont Manor Park encompasses 13 acres of walking paths, gazebos, benches and stretches of grass along more than 5,000 feet of shoreline.

Last week Julia B. Fee Sotheby’s International Realty’s Larchmont brokerage hosted a collective open house and cocktail reception in the Larchmont Manor section of town. The event attracted around 50 brokers from Conn., Westchester County and Manhattan, who all had a chance to tour the fabulous properties. Below are just a few photos from this wonderful event as we take a closer look at each of the homes that were showcased.

8 Grove Avenue

Steps from Manor Park and the Horseshoe Harbor Yacht Club is a 2007 Colonial that’s defined by style, luxurious spaces, and elegant finishes. All of these elements combine to offer a superb living environment in the heart of Larchmont. A spacious floor plan features multiple living areas, a large open family room, formal lounge and dining areas and a handsome paneled library, all warmed by one of three wood-burning fireplaces. Four generous bedrooms include a master suite with its pristine marble bathroom and harbor views. Additionally, there is a spectacular finished lower level that includes a media room, living area and dedicated wine cellar with storage for over 1,000 bottles. The current owners of the home, Kristine Patterson and her husband, have lived in the home for four years and in that time fell in love with the area.

“As soon as I drove through the area it appealed to us right away,” Patterson says. “It has a small town feel, but has the luxury of New York City’s amenities being so close by.”

The open concept floor plan offers a contemporary, eat-in kitchen, which connects with the family room. A formal dining room overlooks a spectacular living room with 18-foot ceilings as light fills the room from large windows on three sides. Cary Sleeper, who is the sales agent representing 17 Woodbine Avenue, explains that the village also has exceptional schools, wonderful family owned restaurants and easy access to transportation.

“Many of the homes here date back to the late 1800s and early 1900s,” Sleeper says. “Back then the Manor Park area was the summer spot for people living in New York City. It was equivalent to what the Hamptons have become today for people in the city. You get a great sense of the history in the region as you travel around town.”
