Millerton, located in Dutchess County, is surrounded by mountains and water, just two hours north of Manhattan and half an hour from Great Barrington, Massachusetts, and Hudson, New York, on the border of Litchfield County, Connecticut.

Millerton’s history dates back to 1851, when according to the Village of Millerton website, a railroad was extended North. With the train coming to the Town of North East, government officials met and discussed founding a village, which was named after the civil engineer of the railroad, Sidney Miller. Over the next several decades, the vision of those government officials came to fruition, and the Village of Millerton became a thriving commercial center.
